The eight principal investigators of the PTRN have been assembled from seven institutions and represent a diverse expertise in in vivo and in vitro protein assembly and folding. A wide variety of techniques including genetics, mass spectrometry, proteomics, FACS, ribosomal profiling, simulations, and directed evolution are being employed to address the fundamental nature of factors that influence protein synthesis and folding.
